Welcome

The Doc is one of the genuine characters of the British Blues scene. He is a charismatic frontman, who delivers raw vocals and harp, wrapped in a web of enigmatic humour. He is backed by a superb band that features the superlative guitar playing of Al Brown and the rock solid rhythm section of Davy Boyle on drums and Alan Thompson on bass.

The band’s Chicago-style blues programme is a delight, combining well-loved standards with cleverly penned originals. Once seen, Rev Doc & The Congregation are an addictive force and never fail to satisfy the high expectations that they provoke.

Doc has been playing for over 25 years and in that time has been voted best harp player in Britain by the Harmonica League.

With The Doc is Al Brown on guitar, one of the best and most respected players in the business. On bass, Alan Thompson, who has worked with John Martyn, Long John Baldry, Steps Ahead, Andy Summers and Jerry Donahue, to name but a few, and with Davy B on drums, the band is known as one of the best high octane Blues acts around. If you’ve heard Rev Doc and The Congregation before, you’ll know the kind of excitement to expect. If you haven’t you’re in for an enjoyable and startling introduction!
